Toronto Symphony Orchestra to Host Open House and Free Community Concert in September

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) invites the public to a full day of free music and community celebration at its annual Open House & Free Community Concert on Saturday, September 20, 2025. On that day, the doors of the iconic Roy Thomson Hall (60 Simcoe Street, Toronto) will be open to all, offering a unique opportunity to discover the thrill of live symphonic music.

This all-day event combines live performances, educational activities, and community engagement to break down barriers and welcome Torontonians of all ages and backgrounds to experience the magic of classical music.

Tickets and Early Access

Admission to the Open House (10:00am–1:30pm) is free and does not require a ticket, but it is required for the Free Community Concert at 2:00pm. Tickets will be available to the public starting September 8. Seating is limited, grab yours before it’s too late.

Event Schedule – Saturday, September 20, 2025

10:00am–1:30pm:

● Lobby performances and interactive activities

● Test-drive instruments of the orchestra

● Compose a short piece and hear it performed on-the-spot

● Enjoy face painting and family-friendly activities

● Explore Roy Thomson Hall on a self-guided tour

● Experience live music from TSO musicians and special guests

● No tickets required for this portion of the event

2:00pm–3:00pm: Free Community Concert

● Conducted by TSO Music Director Gustavo Gimeno and Barrett Principal Education Conductor & Community Ambassador Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser

● A vibrant, one-hour program of beloved classics and new discoveries

● Tickets required; free admission
